Juanita, Your reply was very informative and helpful. I have spoken to Norma Wallace, and she told me that this Wallace family was not related to her husband's family. Lucy Gaines Bruce was born in 1823 in Bedford County, Tennessee to Thomas E. Bruce and Mary Kemp Polly Turpin. She was married in 1840 to James P. Wallace in Shelby County, ILL. The obituary of her daughter, Antoinette Wallace Robinson, who died in 1923, stated that they came to Missouri in 1870. Bruce family members that I have corresponded with know nothing more than that Lucy died in 1898 in Pollock, Missouri. I have been looking up all of the James P. Wallace notations on Ancestry.com, but have come up empty. I am perplexed. I am obviously a novice at this, so any suggestions would be greatfully accepted.
