I have been researching my Wheelers in Sullivan Co MO and wondering if anyone has connections to this family: Elisha Wheeler [son of James Wheeler and Nancy ? (poss England) ], married Hannah West (dtr of James West and Rachel Mealman) Apr 23 1863, Sullivan Co MO. Prior to marrying Hannah in MO, Elisha was born and raised in Monroe Co KY and followed other members of his family - Archibald and Catherine (Wheeler) McNeese, Simon and Melinda (McNeese) Wheeler - aunt and uncle. Elisha was a member of Co A 23rd Reg, Vol infantry of the MO army. He served from Aug 1861 to Oct 1862; was discharged for medical reasons. Known children of Elisha and Hannah: Rachel F Wheeler b 1867; married John W Turner (children unknown) Tabitha Wheeler b March 1868; died bef 1870 James Owen Wheeler b 1869 William M Wheeler b 1872 Clarinda Wheeler b Sept 1875 died Aug 1876 Sidney (male) b July 1878 As far as I'm aware, all children were born in Sullivan Co MO.
