Good Morning all, I was on this list awhile back kind of lurking.. and then dropped it because I figured that my information about my family being in Sullivan County must have been wrong. Last night I received a phone call from my grandmother's 1/2 sister. I want to say right now.. I had no idea my grandmother had any 1/2 siblings. I don't think it was a secret, because the ladies name rings a bell.. I just don't think I ever asked.. The lady sounds wonderful and just full of life. It amazes me that her father is my great grandfather!!! She's going to be sending me a bunch of family history stuff in the mail soon. But, last night she told me that on my great grandfather's death certificate the people had put his mother's name down, mispelled. That was a "big" clue in going about finding anyone. I went to the genweb last night for Sullivan County and found my great great grandparents: McClaskey, Robert to Clapp, Rosetta on Jan 06, 1887. Her real name was Rozella, except that I am beginning to wonder if it was really Rosetta. I've been stopped at Robert and Rozella (Rosetta?) Clapp McClaskey for years... now that I have some dates and names that are actually floating around out there.. I want to just add this to the mix and ask that if anyone out there at all, knows anything about this family.. I'd surely like to know... and so would Mary Francis, my grandmother's 1/2 sister.
