I am turning to the list for help with this one. I just discovered hubby's gg-grandparent's yesterday. Subsequent check of records I have access to has yielded nothing further than the following. William C. AYERS m. Rinda HAYNES 18 Sep 1864. (found on the MOGenWeb site, Early Sullivan Co. marriages) 1870 Sullivan Co., MO Federal Enumeration Census Pg. 167, 71/65 Ayers, William C., 57, M, W, Farner, b. Ohio . . . Almarind, 40, F, W, Keeping House, b. Missouri . . . Clara, 5, F, W, b. Missouri . . . Welcome, 4, M, W, b. Missouri . . . John C., 3, M, W, b. Missouri . . . Ida (E.?), 10/12, F, W, b. Missouri William C. Ayers served during the Civil War. His widow, Almarinda T. Ayers, applied for Widow's Pension on 27 Feb 1886. I have not been able to find William and Almarinda in the 1880 Sulivan Co. census. However, Ancestry's soundex search is not always the best. Also, have not been able to find Almarinda/Rinda in the 1860 census in any Haynes household, nor can I find William in that year. Given Almarinda/Rinda's age, she may have been married before 1864. Does anyone have any additional information on this family or can you recommend another place to look? TIA, Corinne
