I have her parents as William Jonathan Jennings and Nancy Jane Watson. Sounds like it might be who you are talking about, but I have different dates for him... born 1/28/1820 in KY d 4/24/1886 Sullivan Co., MO., and the Jonathan instead of Jackson. I don't know the names of Williams' parents, but his father was born in England and his mother in KY. Here are the notes I have on William: William's father was born in England and his mother was born in KY. This family came to Sullivan Co., MO from Matoon, Illinois. They crossed the Mississippi River at Quincy, Illinois by ferry with their cattle and belongings. They settled in the Loeffler area where they farmed and raised their family. Two of their babies were buried in the garden, which is now farming area on the Johnny Cook Farm. William died on april 24, 1886, in Sullivan Co., MJO and his wife, Nancy, died there in 1900. The daughter of Louisa & Elijah Bailey was Leona Melvina Bailey who married John Calvin Smith 2/19/1891. He was killed when the tree he was cutting fell on him and crushed him, on his 41st birthday, on 1/19/1905. Leona married twice more... to Jack Walker & Virgel Head. Not sure which was 2nd and which was 3rd. I have no other children listed for her, but there could be some I don't know about. The daughter she had with John Smith, Bonnie Marie Smith, b 11/20/1901 married Ernest "Mike" Pope, 8/25/1919 in Kirksville, Adair Co., MO. They had 12 Pope children. I don't know why I even have this in my file... I guess because my mother-in-law was a Pope and I'm trying to connect her line to the one in Sullivan Co. That's the only reason I can think of, because I see no relationship to me when I pull up a kinship report. I haven't read the rest of the responses you've received. Perhaps someone else has already told you about this daughter. What do you think? Joanne Scobee Morgan morgans4@swbell.net
