Posted on: Sullivan County, MO Queries Forum Reply Here: http://genconnect.rootsweb.com/gc/USA/Mo/Sullivan/10708 Surname: SMITH, MULLINS, CLEMENTS, NORVELL, GILLISPIE, ROGERS, WATSON ------------------------- Tracking down a Doctor F. JOHNSON (his given name, not a title). Doctor married Esther M. MULLINS in Sullivan County in 1863. I believe they had a son, Prentiss Franklin JOHNSON b. 9 Feb 1864, d. 28 Jan 1916 in Reger. Prentiss is listed in the 1870 Sullivan census in the home of Esther's sister Nancy Mullins CLEMENTS (Mrs. John CLEMENTS). Doctor was in Co A of the 23rd Mo Vol. Inf. in the CW (commanded by General Benj. PRENTISS) along with Esther's brother. Doctor said he was a resident of Scottsville and was born about 1836 in Boon [sic] Co, MO. In 1863 Doctor was discharged from the army and in 1864 bought land just east of Scottsville. About the same time Phillip F. JOHNSON bought land in the next section, maybe a relative? Doctor sold the land 15 Jan 1870 and disappeared. Esther has not been found since the marriage. My aunt lived in Reger for many years and has known a couple of men named Prentiss JOHNSON. I'm hoping to make contact with one of these men to see if they are related. Is there a Doctor in the house? Link: Doctor F. JOHNSON Webpage URL: <http://worldconnect.rootsweb.com/cgi-bin/igm.cgi?op=GET&db=smithns&id=I4703>
