Gillaspie, 71, of Humphreys, died suddenly at 5:30 p.m. yesterday at his home there, it was learned here today. Mr. Gillaspie, who was engaged in the blacksmith business in Humphreys, was in his usual health yesterday, and after attending a funeral there in the afternoon, assisted in getting some one driving an automobile out of the mud. He had just finished doing the chores about the home and came into the house, complaining to Mrs. Gillaspie that he was not 'feeling just right.' In a few minutes remarked 'I think it is all over,' and fell. He was dead before a physician could be called. The cause of death was apoplexy. Mr. Gillaspie formerly lived on a farm in the community of Haseville, but moved to Humphreys ten or twelve years ago and bought a blacksmith shop, which he operated himself. He was a member of the Methodist church at Humphreys and also a member of the I.O.O.F. lodge. Besides the widow the survivors include three daughters, Mrs. Emma Keith [Smith], Linneus; Mrs. Thomas Maul, Laredo; Mrs. Flora Campbell, state of California; four sons, Plezie Gillaspie, Alfred Gillaspie, Aura Gillaspie, and Elzie Gillaspie, all of state of California; two brothers, Sherman Gillaspie, Laredo, George Gillaspie, address not learned [Valeda, KS]; one sister, Mrs. Ida Rentfrow, Rockville, Neb. Funeral arrangements have not been completed awaiting word from relatives from a distance.
