It is possible that he applied for a "Delayed" birth certificate at a later date, usually as part of Social Security. You might visit the MO Dept. of Health Site at http://www.health.state.mo.us/BirthAndDeathRecords/BirthAndDeathRecords.html and send in for his birth certificate. Maybe you will get lucky. My grandfather b. 1891 created a "delayed" birth certificate for SS use.

Surnames: ROMINE AND BAILEY Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/jNB.2ACI/27.95.2 Message Board Post: I have just discovered some of my ancestors in Sullivan County, Missouri. I have a James D. Romine and his wife Rachel Bailey who lived there. He died in 1893, she after the 1900 census but do not know when. I found online some marriage records of Romine's in Sullivan County: Mathew married Adaline Shatto; Peter married Sarah E. Cathers; Peter married Minda Ostram; Samuel M. married Clara J. Pryor; Emma married David Ostrom and Rita E. married James McArthur. On the 1900 census Rachel Bailey Romine had a niece by the name of Nora S. Romine (age 17) living with her. Do any of these names sound familar to you on your Romines? I do not know the names of the children of James D. Romine and his wife Rachel. Thank you for your time. Ned
