    2. Looking for additional information (descendants or ancestors) on Lane, Harbaugh(?), Cofer, and Estes families. Henry H. Lane, b. 27 Apr 1847 (MO), m. 30 Dec 1869 (Stone Co, MO), to Mary Elizabeth Cofer, b. 21 Mar 1850 (MO). Henry d. 25 May 1919 at Aurora, Lawrence Co, MO; Mary die 1 July 1927 at Aurora, MO. Henry's parents are believed to be Charles C. Lane, b. abt 1800 (TN or GA) and Manerva "Annie" Harbaugh(?). Mary's parents were John Hardin Cofer, b. 16 April 1821 (TN) and Sarah Estes, b. 16 Jul 1824 (TN). John Cofer d. 26 Apr 1862 and Sarah Estes Cofer d. 9 Mar 1907. Peter Franklin Lane (7 Mar 1880-16 Oct 1957), son of Henry and Mary Lane, is my maternal grandfather. Notes follow on Cofer/Estes: >From pension records: 2 Feb 1864 Affidavit contained following information: Married 20 March 1844 at Roan County Tenn, by Esquire Roberts, a justice of the peace that Peter Estes and Samuel Estes "that we were present at Roan Co Tenn on the 20th day of March 1844 & saw Hardin Coffer & Sarah Estes married & that she has remained a widow ever since the death of her said husband." Post Office address of Sarah Coffer was McCullah P.O. Stone Co, Missouri >From pension records: extracted from 22 June 1864 affidavit ".......... said Hardin Coffer volunteered at Robertson Mill in Stone County MO on or about the 8th day of February 1862 ........" witnesses were David and Rebecca Kimberling >From pension records: extracted from 7 Nov 1866 affadavit of James W. Robertson "I James W. Robertson late Captain Co F 14th MSM Cavalry ............. The said Hardin Coffer was actively engaged in recruiting and organizing Co F. 14 MSM Cavalry Vols and while performing that duty was continually in the saddle riding through the Country to precure enlistments and was very much exposed to cold, severe, and wet weather while performing said duty. On about the 22nd of April 1862 he was taken to his bed with Typhoid Fever and died of the same as above stated. ................. was a member of the Methodist Church in good standing ........" >From pension records: extracted from 29 June 1871, Application for a New Certificate ".......... on or about the 5th day of January, 1871, at her residence in Stone County Missouri her pension certificate was either lost of destroyed. That she kept her pension certificate in a trunk. That on said 5th day of January 1871 there was company at her house and the clothing in said trunk was used. that she has never been able to find said pension certificate since that day and she believes the same ws thrown in the fire by some of the children and consumed." address was Marionville, Lawrence Co, Missouri >From pension records: Marionville, Lawrence Co, Missouri, 8 July 1875 "Before me a Notary Public within and for said County personally came Sarah Coffer widow of Harden Coffer who being by me duly sworn says that she is the Mother of the following children Margarett Frances who was born November 24th 1848 Mary E who was born March 21st 1851 Sarah E who was born Sept 1st 1855 David H who was born Nov 19th 1857 James F who was born Jan 20th 1860 and Peter Seigle who was born March 17th 1862 That Paul Estes and Paulina Estes his wife have lived near neighbors to hes since 1850 and have been present at the birth of my children often every day or two for weeks after the birth of each child. That it was not usual and I did ot have the services of attending Physicians but the services of neighboring women that the above is correct date of birth of each of the children therin set-forth - That the errors and date of birth given in the origianl declaration was the mistake and error of her Agent J. Frank Seaman who prepared for her the applications and the affidavits that she has supported and maintained all her children by her own labor and the assistance of her said children." ..........................
