    3. Hi All, I just recently joined this list - & thought I'd throw out my primary Stone County Surnames, as well as LEONARD & HENDRICKSON. I am trying to find a map that shows the Township boundaries in relation to the census'. Does anyone have a link for one? Based on your recent emails, it appears you are a fairly active message group & certainly try to help each other. That's great news! Joy

    3. Hi Joy, I too descend from the Leonard's. David Leonard is the common ancestor. His wife was Mary Sanders, sister to Peter Sanders. The two families migrated to Stone Co about 1848 (while still Taney of course) from Jackson Co Al. My Edwards also came from there, as well as the John Taylors and the Summers. 4 sons of David and Mary joined the 1st Ark Cav and died within a week of each other of pneumonia in Fayetteville about 1863. Can you imagine the shock to the parents!!! 2 of the brothers, William Henry (my ancestor) and George Redmond Leonard had small children when the brothers died. Another brother , Aaron Andrew Jackson Leonard, joined late in the war ,survived, and was the administrator for David when he died in 1880. Those records are in Barry Co. Aaron AJ moved to Tx and later to Idaho, had a large number of descendants, one of whom seems to have had the family bible based on the list of David and Mary's children I have. The Hobbs, Riders, Leonards, and Hendrickson's are in Mildred Roden's 'Our Bilyeu Family' since the Bilyeu's married into several of those families. These names are associated with the McCullough community and lived from Viola to Nauvoo in Williams township. So cousin, what is your connection to the Leonard's?
