A real treat is in store for those who remember their parents and grandparents talking about the canning factories in Stone County! Samuel West has sent us a photo of a label from the L.D. Gold cannery in School, Missouri. My own mother who was born in School, Missouri told me many times how as a girl she and her father would wait in line at a cannery with a wagon load of tomatoes. After the unloading she would go inside the cannery and peel them for the sum of five cents for every three gallons peeled! This one is a "must see". The direct URL is: http://www.rootsweb.com/~mostone/photo/label.htm Sam also sent a mystery photo of the 1912 class of Brown's Spring School. Perhaps someone can help identify the students whose names are not known. That photo can be found at: http://www.rootsweb.com/~mostone/mystpics/bschool.htm Thanks Sam for the great photos!
