I received this email from Larry Morgan. What a thoughtful person he is! He could have just thrown this information out. I don't know if anyone on the list knows the Mr. Cleo Craig who died in 1917, but if so the note below is a treasure. Jo -----Original Message----- From: Larry L. Morgan <larginmor@hotmail.com> To: PDUNNE@satx.rr.com <PDUNNE@satx.rr.com> Date: Monday, September 04, 2000 12:22 PM Subject: Stone County Funeral Notice My mother was Cornelia Eliza Fisk, born in Galena on July 20, 1920 to Theodore Parker and Lila Farmer Fisk. Recently, after my father passed away, I found the Fisk family bible as we were sorting various items - my mother having passed away in November of 1994. Inside the bible I found an original copy of a Woodmen of the World Funeral Notice, to wit: Cleo W. Craig died at his home in Galena, Missouri, Thursday, July fifth, nineteen hundred seventeen. Aged twenty-nine years, nine months and eighteen days. Funeral services at the residence of W. D. Craig, Friday, July sixth, at 1:30 o'clock p.m. Conducted by Dr. A. L. McQuary. Interment at Galena Cemetery with services by Galena Camp No. 288, W. O. W. Friends invited. I don't know why this funeral notice was in the family bible, and do not know any relationship that existed with the Fisk family. I did not that the Galena cemetery index on your web page lists Mr. Craig as being buried there, but doesn't have the date of his death. I thought that either your organization, or if family members remain in the area, might be interested in this announcement. Larry L.
