I received a pension packet for Alexander Hood's wife, Rachel (Graves). Among the papers was this: D.M. Huffman, M.D. letterhead Marionville Mo March 10, 1910. Mr. J.C. Davenport, Commissiner Dear Sir, It has been the custom in this county for neighbors to dig graves and bury the dead free of charge therefore no charges in this case for digging graves, ect. Yours truly, U.G. Hood per D.M. Huffman (all this Huffman's writing) Grant Hood (I think that's his writing). Alexander Hood and his wife, Rachel are buried in Hood Cemetery northeast of Crane.
