I posted about my Yocums in the last post, but for me the Yocums are a "sideline" that I have not pursued. Sorry I can't help with that. I remember my "Uncle Jake" and my grandfather George B. Norman working on cars when I was little, in the 60s. I strongly associate the smell of dust, oil and cigars with them. If I am correct I believe he was not really an uncle, more of a second cousin. My Underwoods come in as gggmother Margaret (Maggie) Underwood (b.1859) who married W. Thomas Frieze. She died in 1899 after having three sons: Columbus J., John Walter, and Leonard Leroy. Leonard Leroy was my ggfather. He married Nellie Jane Berry and they had one dau., (my gmother) Addie Jewell, and three sons; Elzie Leroy, Eddie Clifford and Truman Woodrow. Of the three sons only Eddie had children that I know of, and they are still living. W.T. married Cordelia Berry (Nellie Jane's older sister) later in 1899 and had several more children. My current working theory is that Margaret was the dau. of Pleasant M. Underwood. I would love to know more about the Underwoods. Janet
