While we're all on the Taylors again, I have another Stone Co. Taylor to throw into the mix. I have been trying to figure out his connection, if any, for several years. William Sturge Taylor b abt 1845. d 1925. m (1.) Alis McNeely, (2.) Mattie Thompson. Children from 1 m is James J. Taylor b 1881.m Carrie Amelia Miller ,and brother William Taylor. James J Taylor and Carrie had son William Edgar Taylor, who marrie my mother, Margaret Costlow. So far, I have not found him related to any of the other Taylors. So..I am related by blood or Marriage to at least 3 of the Taylor familes of Stone Co. The above Taylor has been a dead end for me. I have absolutely nothing on him. He appears in the Stone Co. census one time and then disappears. Where did he come from, how is he connected to other Taylors. ????? Anyone have anything on him?????????????????? Robin

Robin, Surprise, surprise! These Taylors are a pain! The only William Taylor I have that is even close to the date you have ( of the ones I have dates for) is a William, b. abt 1850, TN, who was the son of a Henry & Narcissa Taylor in Maury Co. TN. Henry was a brother of Claiborn , who I believe is probably the father of my William Thomas Taylor that came from TN, married Anna Owens at Potosi, MO, before coming to Stone Co. MO. I do not know if this William even left TN, so have no clue on him at all. Seems most of Claiborn and family stayed in Maury Co. I think one other child went to TX. Oh---and I won't even start on Taylors that married into my Pearson family in Brunswick Co. VA. I have'nt even attempted to follow them, although some of my Pearson family left VA for Warren Co KY, and at least four familes ultimately came to various parts of MO, including Lawrence Co.
