Dear List, I may be able to put up the 1930 census back on Old Settlers, however, it will be with a membership key only. Meaning, you will have to sign into the site like you do many sites on the web. I might also be able to put up more family histories by using a membership key. I feel this would benefit our MoStone Community yet keep out those who are out crusing the internet to make a buck off years of my hard work. This is an idea..and if enuff of you are interested, I will try this. Please let me know by a yea or nay. How it would work: The main old settlers site would be available as well as photos, etc. However, any family files or census records would be in a membership only area accessable with Your password. I would be moving the family files off the main page into a secure area, along with the census and obits. As I said, just an idea ! Let me know what you think. This might be a good idea, but it only works if you limit the people who can access it to people you can trust.. I was administrator for another organization's site for several years. We were able to code documents as to whether they were to be public or not. No one could view anything that was not public unless they had a username and password. At least this way you have some control of who is viewing the site and you can monitor a login list if you so choose. Nothing is perfectly safe however. I do subscribe to Ancestry, but having the specific Stone County info at your fingertips has been mighty nice.
