If someone had an ancester on the Trail of Tears how could the verify it?My cousin says his maternial ancestores(Mays) was on the trail of tear and the Mays name was found a lot connected with the Cherokee's. Any information on where to check is appreciated.He has looked in the Dawes/Gurin rolls like them but they dont tell anythingon the Trail of tears Thanks Linda
