    1. [MOSTONE-L] More on JONES
    2. Mary Ann and other interested listers, I've been thinking and trying to digest all this stuff. I can find your Sarah Ellen (McELHANEY) JONES in the 1910 Stone Co. census (via the Stone Co. webpage). Where were they in 1900? Also, I was thinking about what you said about the folks you interviewed in Stone Co. on your research trip. They think "Uncle Ace" (aka Asa G. JONES) was related to you. Asa had a William R. as a brother. William R. that is Asa's brother is in the 1860 Stone Co. census that was taken on 3 July 1860. He is listed as being 4 years old (b.1856). In 1870 (11? 14? Jul) he was listed as being 15 years old (b. 1855). In 1880, he is living with his half-sister and her family (the HEMBREEs). That census was taken 22 June 1880 and he was 25 (b. 1855). You have your William R. being born Feb. 1858. How sure are you of this info? I'm thinking you got it off the 1900 Census. What does it list for the birthplace of the mother and father of your William? Does it say father b. NC and mom b. TN or MO? Asa's birthdate (6 Mar 1858) matches the tombstone record with the 1860, 1870, 1880, and 1900 census. It doesn't appear that he is in Stone Co. in 1910, but his wife Mary J. is, living with her YOUNGBLOOD cousin. Hmmm, interesting. Asa names his son James Riley. We need more detective work to figure out if your Wm. R is my Wm. R. I'm thinking maybe. Cheri Mello
