I started entering some old data that I had forgotten about (my ancestor's siblings). I was working on Joseph (Joe) Columbus Hood b 2 Aug 1874 in Stone Co, MO and d. 31 Jan 1950 in the state penitentary in Jefferson City, MO for killing his (3rd?) wife Frances Maude McClain Keesey. I'm guessing her maiden name was McClain and her first husband was Keesey, but it's all a guess. She had 2 children by Joe Hood, Joseph Paul (b 1916) and William Eugene (b 1919). According to this undated file (from I don't know who anymore (shame on me!)), it said that Joe killed Maude in an argument over money sent home by his sons in the service in WWII. (Maude's DOD is 6 Dec 1943 and is buried in Crane Community Cemetery). I was wondering if there was a newspaper article about this. Also, I have Joe Columbus Hood m.1 to Hattie KISSEE (he is buried with her) and 2) to Bettie. I can find Joe Hood in the 1900 with Hattie on the Stone Co web page and 1910 census with wife Bettie (married only 10 months, 2nd marriage for both of them) but he is missing in both the 1920 and 1930 censuses (I tried on Ancestry.com too and couldn't get him to come up).
