I've been so surprised and pleased at the interest in the letter I've posted of my 3G-grandfather who witnessed the trail first hand. I thought I'd post the family info again in hopes some of you might be able to assist me as well. I do have family connections to Stone/Christian/Greene Counties of MO and interestingly enough those families are also partially native american. I was connected to Stone Co when I found a Guion-Miller application filed by my g-g-grandfather Rogers' brother in 1906. I thought I'd post info of him and his family in hopes someone maybe able to help me find members of his family today. James Ansel Rogers, born about 1830 in Washington County, Virginia (son of Prudence Rogers and Daniel Stephens (Prudence was unmarried). James relocated first to Greene County, MO and can be found there in 1870 census. By 1880, he and his family are in Christian County and sometime after that, Stone County. James Ansel Rogers married Elizabeth Good (likely in TN). They were the parents of the following: 1) Nancy Margaret Rogers b. April 1865 Sullivan County, TN. Died about 1955 in Republic, Greene County, MO. She married Granville Pearce and were parents of Lewis William Pearce (b. 1885 -- married Golda Young); Amanda Corella Pearce (b. 1888 -- married John Porter Ghan); Marion Wesley Pearce (b. 1890 -- married Ida Johns); Reathal M. Pearce (b. 1896 -- married Robert Sellars); Florence Ines Pearce (b. 1899 -- married Charles Wise); James Leonard Pearce (b. 1901). 2) Thomas Franklin Rogers b. 1868 3) Samuel Rogers b. 1869 4) William Henry Rogers b. 1875 5) Alice Rogers b. 1878; married Charles Henry. Child: Annie Henry married ? Eutsler. Grandchild: Troy Eutsler died about 1935. 6) Martha E. Rogers b. 1882; married John Curtis. Can anyone help me with these families particularly those families I have little info on ? Gary
