According to the Stone Co. Hist. Vol 1, Carol Gore and his 2nd wife, Nancy (Granny Gore) came to Owens Bend in Stone Co. in the late 1850s. However, I have a picture of their tombstones/memorials at Philibert Cemetery, and they say Wm. Carol "Tipton" Gore d 1853 Owens Bend, and Granny died 1917. I looked in the 1860 census, and there aren't any Gores there. Did Owens Bend fall into Barry County? Plus, the only Gores in 1870 Stone is James and his family.
