Rose, Wallace Maxwell is a brother to Curtis Maxwell who m Susan Costlow. He is also a brother to Agnes Annie Maxwell who m Joseph H Jones and then m John Valentine Costlow, both children of Edward Costlow and Mary Taylor. Both Maxwells children of David H Maxwell. To complicate matters more, Charles Maxwell s/o Curtis G Maxwell & Susan Costlow , m Ella Ethel Crabtree, d/o Henry Crabtree & Mary Essery. Robin, Yes there are two Crabtree families, but I believe they are connected somehow. I just need to find the link. I know I have a connection to both sides. Reese Crabtree who married Tabiatha Jones is my gr-gr-gr grandfather. I am related to the "other" Crabtree's via Mary Smith (Smyth) who married Bowling Baker. She is my gr-gr-gr-grandmother. Mary's Aunt Rebecca Smyth married Job Crabtree. This is where the confusion starts. Job & Rebecca (Smyth) Crabtree's first two son's are named Abraham & Isaac Crabtree. They also had a son named William Thomas Crabtree. Now, My Gr-gr-gr grandfather Reese Crabtree's father is named Abraham Crabtree who has a brother ( I believe) named Isaac Crabtree. Isaac Crabtree named one of his son's "Reese". Well, I am not or at least I don't know if I am. I subscribed to this list looking for James family. But they are such a hoot, I just keep for the "how to" references they sometimes give and for the entertainment value. I have laughed and followed this list so long I feel like I am one of them. There are certain ones I look for each day. My ggf's brother was in Stone Co. (School, Mo., to be exact) when his application for Civil War Veterans benefits were reviewed. His name was Redden Norton James and he was originally from Tenn. but had lived in Searcy Co., Ark. until that time. We can't figure out why a man who was so disabled that he couldn't work would move to another locality. We know his brother (my ggf) married a girl from Missouri and we can't find that area either. We think it was Taney, Stone, or Barry Co. but haven't found definite area yet. We think he moved back to an area where he had an uncle, father, etc. We don't have his father's name either.
