The mention of blindness piqued my interest. My gggmother, Maggie Underwood Frieze was blind. She lived from 1859 to 1899. I do have a sort of a photograph of her, it looks like it's been enhanced by an artist, but it is on cardboard, fragile, and too large to scan anyway. She is younger in my photograph and not blind (yet,) but her eyebrows and ears appear to be similarly shaped in both photographs. Also, a companion "photo" of W.T. has a similar look to the eyebrows, though my pic has him with a moustache, not a full beard. I guess it might be time to carry them to Kinko's and see if I can get them put on disc. Do you have any other facts or speculations about the photo beyond what was in the post? The related names you listed were not ones I've run across in my research on my family. Janet Southall
Janet, Just a suggestion on your photos. I have pictures of my Grandparents made the same way. Take a digital photo of each, that way you can send copies to whom ever you want, and at the same time you can put the digital pictures on CDs. My pictures are 90-91 years old at the present time, and are in gold leaf oval frames, with bubble glass, which have been appraised at approximately 110 years old. These were given to my parents as a wedding present and the passed down to me when I married. I am giving them to my 1st Granddaughter when she marries. I know how precious yours are to you.
