    1. Bolin Photo
    2. First, I had no idea that my simple ID of a photo would create so much e-mail traffic. Therefore, for those Mo-Stoners that have no interest in the Bolin surname, I'll make Bolin the subject of all future mail. You can hit delete and move on to something of interest. Now onward with info on my grandfather, Alsom Olin BOLIN, who I will refer to as AO. A brief genealogy overview follows: - AO was born in 1887 in Kansas, the son of George Wesley Bolin and George Ann Moser ( NOTE: several spellings for George Ann and Moser can be found). AO died 1964 and was buried @ New Hope cemetery, Marion, MO. AO's siblings were: - -- Martin Bolin, married a Standlee - -- Mary Bolin, married a Ellis - -- Nellie Bolin, married a Sparks - -- Bessie Bolin, married a McCullough - A.O. and his wife Elsie raised me from the age of 5 until I finished high school at 17 years old. During those 12 years I came to know them as Mom & Dad. I also remember some of A.O. siblings visiting, namely his sisters. I also recall a Della and Lewis visiting. Lewis enjoyed fishing on the Missouri River with A.O. If my memory serves me correctly Della and Lewis had a pretty red haired daughter named LaDean or NaDean or something similar. There was also a "Jigs" Sparks that visited. I don't think he hadn't been married very long. - I took "Jigs" and his wife hunting and nearly wore them out. I was a young boy at the time. Years later I went to Kansas (location slips my mind) to visit "Jigs" and wife for purpose of picking up a crudely framed picture of Alsom Olin Bolin, my grandfather. My understanding at the time was that "Jigs" had got the picture from Nellie Bolin Sparks. I was not interested in genealogy at the time and wasn't interested in the photo's history. - Finally, for those that ask about Grace Mills. Grace was a cousin of the Lillian show in the photo. I think the only connection between Grace and AO was a water melon. That's all folks …………… don bolin …………
