Jo did a great service to everyone with Stone County connections. I really appreciate all that she has done and am sure that she will continue to be a valuable part of the genealogy community in the future. However, I will be unsubscribing to the digest version (unsubscribed to the regular version sometime back) as there is too much advertising and politics being broadcast rather than real research and help (for FREE) being provided. Hi! I normally just read the e-mails and note in my head (or save my e-mail) if there is something I want to research further. I have been doing research on my family for years and have found extremely valuable help from both the MOStone site and the people on the list. I appreciate the hard work that everyone does to make family research both fun and valuable for those of us who can't afford to subscribe to the "fee" sites and who can't make it to the library. With all that said, the Stone County families I am researching are: Anderson, Hembree, Warren, Grimes (extremely stumped on that one), Rickman, Moore, DeForest. Those are the main ones that I can think of. Thanks for all your work! Tara

Dempsey Cook Jennings DOB: December 12, 1840 -- Kentucky DOD: July 3, 1903 - Ponce DeLeon Springs, Stone, Missouri Martha Ann Curtis Jennings DOB: January 4, 1849 -- Tennessee DOB: November 29, 1934 - Corning, Tehama, California Dempsey came into Missouri in the mid 1840's with his father, Squire Jennings. Some of Dempsey's family later moved to California and one daughter moved to Oklahoma. I show they have 10 children, three of whom died at or shortly after birth. Would love to have any documentation on this family that might be available in Stone County, specifically a picture of his headstone at Ponce DeLeon Springs Cemetery. Twila

The other option might be lookups on the census offered through something like raogk.com With a page number, etc. you would be equipped to locate the census on the Heritage quest site. The are always downsides to each method. Of course, the LDS has free access to ancestry.com but you must access through one of their centers. Additionally, many libraries subscribe to ancestry.com but I must say, the hours available aren't always the most convenient to many. But if the invited access works, why not?
