Cheri, Youngblood is one of my co-laterial lines and I believe I remember reading about Asa Jones married to Mary J. Youngblood. It would have been in the JEREMIAH YOUNGBLOOD book by Dorothy Quaife. I don't have a copy of the book but you can reach Dorothy at d.quaife@worldnet.att.net. Loretta
Cheri; I have a bunch of info on the Hembrees that are tied to Chloe Mustain Hembree, from Dallas and later Cedar Counties. My gg-grandmother Johnston was Chloe's sister, Mary Jane. Hi List, Anyone researching the above names? Many of them were in Stone when Stone was still Taney! DEVAULT, Sarah (haven't done much on her yet) (1822-1893). Buried in Blue Eye at the Rhodes cemetery (she married Absalom RHODES. See below.) DUNCAN, Glen (1909-1986), and siblings: Glenna (twin), Cecil, and Ronald (still living and I have picked his brain). My mom was b. in Blue Eye too (still living). HEMBREE, Beulah (1916-1972); William "Allen" (1868-1951); William (1836-1910--I think 1909); John (1797/8-1867). I have practically all the siblings of these folks. JONES, Hezekiah (18teens-1870s): wife #2: Nancy P. MATHES; S. (a boy) c. 1835; Nancy Ann (1839-1917); Lewis S (c. 1844-?): married Matilda A. SULLIVAN; William R. (c. 1856-?); Asa G (c. 1858-?) m. Mary J. YOUNGBLOOD; Sarah C? (c. 1859/60-?) RHODES, Absalom (1815-1862). Killed by bushwhackers. Probably Alf Bowlin, as he killed his step-father Calvin CLOUD within day of killing Absalom. Will share what info I have. Cheri Mello Torrance CA
Calvin Cloud was not step-father to Alf Bowlin, more of a foster father as he and wife Mary Jane took the boy into their home after he was abandoned by his real family. See Stone County History Book Volume I, published by Stone Co. Historical /Genealogical Society, Galena, Mo.

Jim, The time frame is off as our Andrew DAVIS (was middle name of Jackson) was not married to my Elizabeth GIBSON WATKINS at that time. Mine died in 1910. However, this may have been a child of his by a previous marriage??? I've got an Andrew JACKSON Davis, born1861 died 1951, buried in Jones/Chastain Cemetery. I am looking for a DAVIS also. Andrew Jefferson DAVIS married Elizabeth GIBSON WATKINS and had several children. They lived and died in Berryville, Arkansas, but began their life together in MO. I think Stone Co. They had some connection to the KILE family in Stone County. Thank you so much for the reply on Patricks. It doesn't sound like any of ours, but I appreciate the effort very much. I have since discovered most of my Patricks are from the Arkansas area, mostly Pope, Crawford, and Garland Counties. But my Massengales are definitely from Stone County. Have traced my great grandfather, Nathaniel Massengale, but can't locate any of the others. Did find my Great Grandmother Rebecca's death record. Sincerely, Barbara Cowans

I am sending this to all 4 of the lists that my Reeces were in in southern MO, please don't get mad at me if you see it again, just delete it if you already read it...... 8-) Anyway, I have seen reference to a James P. Reese that was a schoolteacher & wonder if it might be my James Percy Reece that I am looking for information about..... If anyone knows any more about him, please let me know. I believe the school was Cedar Ridge, or Oak Ridge ..... Also, Linda P., if you are reading this, was Ellie Reece Kinion also Grace Ella Reece??? I have seen a query letter about her & wondered if they are indeed the same person, child of James Percy Reece. Thanks all! Jerry J. Gerald Hankins "Jerry" Johnston
