    3. I did a search for Stults Cemetery on the Geographic Name server....it says that Stults Cemetery is in the location of Spokane, Mo. You can go to the GNIS site and get a map which shows the location. The URL is: http://www-nmd.usgs.gov/www/gnis/gnisform.html Jo -----Original Message----- From: CDOYLEC@aol.com <CDOYLEC@aol.com> To: MOSTONE-L@rootsweb.com <MOSTONE-L@rootsweb.com> Date: Thursday, June 08, 2000 1:17 AM Subject: [MOSTONE-L] Re: Stults Cemetery >Hello, out there. 2. Hello, out there. I have been trying to get some info on the Stults Cemetery listed in the Stone County Cemetery list. I have located my Great Great-Grandmother there. The location in the list says it is located one-half mile southwest of Stults, MO. on a gravel road. Elba gave me some history on it, but I have looked on the maps online, and the only Stults, Mo. that comes up is north and east of Springfield quite a ways. Is there another Stults, MO, does anyone know? Would greatly appreciate someone clearing this up for me, as we plan on a trip back there, and need to know exactly where to look. Thanks. Bobbi Cowans

    3. I am trying to find information on the following folks. It appears there is no one else working on them & I hope to make a connection now. Alfred Paley Baker Reece, from TN, went by Baker Reece. He was killed in about 1873 to 1876 when the tree he was topping fell on him. I have not been able to find evidence of this anywhere, nor where he is buried. If anyone knows, please let me know. One of his sons, William Franklin D. Reece lived in Stone Co. for a while in the early part of the 20th century. His wife was named Myrtle and they had several children. I am trying to find out what happened to them. James Percy L. Reece, of Taney Co. may have been a teacher for a while in Stone Co. The latter two men were the sons of Baker Reece and Sarah T. Bills Reece, later Mrs. Robert Payne Austin, of Taney Co. They had a younger brother, Paley Reece, who was my great-grandfather. Please let me know if any of these folks look familiar! Thanks in advance! 3. I will be glad to do Pine Township where my ggrandfather lived. I do not have Microsoft Works. I do have Microsoft Word. In what format are the documents to be saved? It would seem that any text or even going straight to HTML would be in order. I am a programmer. Let me know what finished format is needed and the specs for tabs spaces, headings, etc. I assume they will follow the layout of previous Stone County resources. Let me know how much to send for the copying and where to send it and the finished transcription (by e-mail or disc????). When ready send to James R. Wade, 1109 Lexington Circle #1, Edinburg, TX 78539. I may be able to take on some more townships if necessary. Let's see how fast and accurate I can do the one. James R. 2. Dear list, The 1920 Stone Co. Federal Census is at my FHC. It is not on the Stone Co. webpage. It is soooooo nice to be able to research things on line, then go to the FHC and get the rest of the info. Jo Dunne & Shirley Evans have done quite a bit to make the Stone Co. webpage what it is. Almost everything you want is there. They have both answered questions for me, to the list as well as privately. As a thank-you, I'd like to start a transcription project. The 1920 Stone Co. census is quite large. If it was left up to me by myself, I'd get it done in 10 years. I will go to my FHC and copy the 1920 Stone Co. census, if you don't have access to it. I will mail you so many pages, or an entire township. The only thing I ask is for reimbursement of the photocopies. I will pay for mailing it. My FHC charges 25 cents a page. I may be able to put 1 census page on an 8.5 x 11 piece of paper (my FHC has no other size). I will have to let you know. But I think I can ( I have some 1920 censuses here...I fit them on an 8.5x11, but we have a couple of newer printers now). I also ask that you follow the same format in transcribing the census. I think it will be best to follow the abbreviated/basic format that was done in the past. To do this, you need to have MS Works. You don't have to know that much about computers to do this. If you are willing, but afraid of the computer, I will help you learn how to use Works. Any volunteers? Cheri Mello kinklector@aol.com

    3. Agree! I'm certainly about ready to toss the Taylor name out the back door!! Speaking of that dreaded name, Diane, there is a Taylor probate that really needs a good going over when I get the chance. The file is huge and seems to try to sort out the various Taylors who are in Stone Co. Especially the two Zebadee Taylors! I think that it may end some of the confusion if and when I can make another trip to Mo to take a peek at it. 3. >If it helps, I can clarify this family in 1910 (in White River Twp): 1956 55 DUNCAN ALBERT HEAD 27 < Cheri, From what I'm hearing these days, Frank was notorious for messing around with married women. I saw that on the census, but since Houston isn't there, unless you know more (like did Maud have a baby before her marriage to Albert?), I think it is likely the Dunkle family. At different times in his life, Frank was in hiding for various things--assault, moonshine making, it's even said he killed a few men. He wasn't a real nice man. I suspect he was in hiding at this time, too, because his brother and dad moved down to Shawnee by Feb 1911, and Frank was not in this census. Albert Duncan & family are living next to the Butlers, who are living next to the Macombs, in 1910. I know Uncle Frank carried a gun most of his life, even until he died at the age of 91 in CA. I think it is one of the Dunkle daughters in the 1900 census. They are not only closer in age to Frank at that time, but Houston was b 1902, and the Dunkles are not in Stone Co. in 1910. My cousin who told me of this said it was "something like Duncan", and Dunkle is reasonably close. Thanks! Vonda

    3. I received info from a distant cousin last night that has me searching again. One of my gg uncles had a son by a woman named, she thought, Duncan. The name of the son was Houston Tice (he was later adopted by his stepfather. There is a Dunkle family not too far from the Macombs in the 1900 Stone census (James Twp.), in which there are 3 young daughters. The Dunkles are not in the 1910 census. There is a Duncan family 2 doors down in the 1910 census from Frank's father, (my gg grandfather) in the 1910 census, in White River Twp. Frank had several illegitimate children, according to my grandmother. This is the first one I've gotten a lead on. Does anyone know anything about these families? Houston was b 1902, according to the SSDI. Since he is not in the Duncan family in 1910, and the Dunkle family is gone, I would suspect the Dunkles. Vonda
