If you have an ancestor who was covered by Woodmen's Insurance (I know the Woodmen are a fraternal organization, but not much else...were they a part of the International Order of Oddfellows?), there is a website where you can have them checked out at http://www.woodmen.com/memserch.htm Boy howdy Vonda

This has nothing to do with my Stone County bunch, but I need some possible different spellings of the name "Fluth". Y'all being such a helpful bunch, could you give me some ideas? Or is there a website that could help? My mother suggested "Pfluth", and another friend some time ago suggested "Sluth", but I'm not having any luck. Vonda

    3. Well, Golly Gee Whiskers!! Since we're throwing names around, does anyone claim this James family? 119 12 James Daniel 55 Tn Farmer Sophia 44 Tn Susan 16 Mo George W 14 Mo Charlotta 12 Mo William R 7 Mo Albert 5 Ks Eveline 3 Mo They were living in Flat Creek in 1870. Would appreciate any information ...and nope...I'm not related..<G> And speaking of that, can anyone tell me why folks get in such a tizzy about sech things? I know it would be nice to find a new cousin, but I've noticed some people get just downright hostile when ya research their family an you're not related...I wonder why? All I have to say is ..."Hide your skeletons in your closet quick, coz I'm lookin' to dig up family bones." <giggle> Hey now, that's an idea!!! We should have Jo put up a little room for "skeletons in the closet"!! Yeppers, she could put a door with cross bones on it for the entry...and all of us could deposit our "Skeletons" in there. I bet every genealogist on the planet would visit that room!! <giggle> I figure that if we just looked in the closet, we could prolly solve all the mysteries of Stone county! :} Me first, you say???? Why sure!! <G> Only thing is, by the time I stick my Skeletons in there, won't be much room for anyone else's. LOL Well, now that you all chickened out...I would appreciate any help with the above James family. :} Thanks! 3. Well, I am not or at least I don't know if I am. I subscribed to this list looking for James family. But they are such a hoot, I just keep for the "how to" references they sometimes give and for the entertainment value. I have laughed and followed this list so long I feel like I am one of them. There are certain ones I look for each day. My ggf's brother was in Stone Co. (School, Mo., to be exact) when his application for Civil War Veterans benefits were reviewed. His name was Redden Norton James and he was originally from Tenn. but had lived in Searcy Co., Ark. until that time. We can't figure out why a man who was so disabled that he couldn't work would move to another locality. We know his brother (my ggf) married a girl from Missouri and we can't find that area either. We think it was Taney, Stone, or Barry Co. but haven't found definite area yet. We think he moved back to an area where he had an uncle, father, etc. We don't have his father's name either. Our original quest was to identify his father. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Michael & Mary Ann Bunnell" <ace@televar.com> To: <MOSTONE-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Wednesday, August 09, 2000 2:27 PM Subject: Re: [MOSTONE-L] Crabtree's > Hi there!!
