Loretta, Welp, you beat me to the punch. I went to the library yesterday and got census from Christian County on Nash's. Here is what I came up with on William and Paralee 1900 Christian County, MO Nash, William A. W M Head Feb 1858 42 M 20 MO TN MO Elmina P. W F W Apr 1852 48 M 20 MO TN TN Ollie W F D Aug 1883 16 S MO MO MO I went and got lots more. Thank you for your info. I, also, have that they are buried in Prospect Cmt. William was born to Henry C. b. 1928 in TN. and 2nd wife Charlotta Malisa Hayes b: 1828 in Tennessee d: May/16/1875 their children were Malissa J b. 1840 MO. , Margaret b. 1845 MO. married James G. Nix b. 1847 TN. Jon W. b 1846 in MO. married Nancy A. Stubbs b. 1852, Elizabeth b. 1850, and then William Alvin "Bud" b Jan 11 1854 in MO d. Aug 2 1932 married (E or A) Alvina Paralee Nix b. Apr 6 1851 d May 21, 1924. One child shown which was Ollie Aug 2 1883. Henry remarried after Paralee's death. As for the child that was born, that I spoke in my last e-mail to you it had to have been Ollie. The dates match. Think there was just a mess up on the name of the Father when it was transcribed. Hope this info helps you and other folks. Let me know if you would like any more detail on the Nash part. Shall try to answer the best of my ability. Warmest Smiles, Pama
Well, y'all... After working for months and years..Stone County is driving me bug nuts!! Did ya"ll know that half the people moved in and out of there without so much as leaving a "howdy do"?? Seems like they just came in long enough to drop off their name before moving on to greener pastures!! In some cases, half of a township had moved out and was replace by entirely new people!! Can you imagine the nerve of those folks??? Did they all hitch to the same wagon train, did the town move, or the boundaries? Where could they have gone to?? Well, they sure left me in a bind. I've been doing double back flips trying to locate some of them. Now here I am..left to plead and beg on bended knee Double and triple marriages, orphaned children, divorced families claiming their spouse was dead even though they live 4 houses away, straying husbands; All.have nearly driven me over the edge!!! Whats a poor old woman to do???? SIGH....... Mindvoice http://members.xoom.com/Robid/Page_1.htm http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~biddle/settlers.htm
Pama, This past Saturday I visited one of my Johnson cousins, Irene Gann Luttrell, in Sparta, MO. She has collected and compiled more geneaology records than most geneaology libraries have. She is also connected to the Nix family. She has: Ollie Nash born 2 Aug. 1883, died 15 June 1908, married George T. Hanks 16 Nov. 1902 in Christian Co. MO. Ollie is buried at Prospect Cemetery, Christian Co. MO. No other info on George. Ollie daughter of William Alvis Nash and Elvina Parlee Nix. William born 7 Jan. 1854 in MO, died 2 Aug. 1932 in MO. Parlee born 6 Apr. 1851 in MO, died 21 May 1924, daughter of Thomas C. Nix. Both William and Parlee are buried in Prospect Cem. Christian Co. MO I got your e-mail after my visit with Irene so I didn't get a chance to ask her about James, I will at the first opportunity. Hope this helps. Loretta

Hello, I have been searching for my ancestors for 25+ years, without success. I bagan my search in Barry Co, MO. I found our great-grandfather there in the 1880 census. He states that his father is from KY and mother either from KY or ILL. I had reason to believe that they may have been in Newton Co abt 1860. Now I am not sure. I have found a Thomas M. Howard b. abt 1835 in Washington TWP from KY and his wife is Matilda C. Howard from ILL b abt 1845. These folks are a little too young to be my Henry Clay Howard's parents, he was b abt 1849 ILL. However, there seems to be some similarities. Thomas is listed in the Stone Co, history book. I do not have a copy to look it up. Would anyone have any ties or know anything about this family? Sandra Howard
Loretta, You have Paralee Nix married to William A. Nash. Which I did find the date in Christian County Page, Dec 23 1878. But I was also looking thru the Christian County Births and there is only one Nash born in it (years from 1883 to 1887). and it was a girl born to James Nash and Pearlee Nix on Aug 2 1883. She was the first child born to this couple. Do you know where or who this would have been? Do you know if William and Paralee divorced? Maybe she married James after? Course cannot find any record of that fact. Any thoughts on this? Warmest Smiles, Pama

Hi all, I've been treasure hunting on the family farm again and I found what I think is a button from a pair of overalls. The button says Show Me Missouri Brand. The "Show me" is across the top, "Missouri" is in the center of the button and below is the word "brand". Anyone heard of this brand of jeans or overalls? Richard
