    3. Folks of mostone: Do any of you do basket weaving? Or do you know anyone who is a serious basket weaver? I have acquired a ton of nice baskets and a couple of large boxes of basket weaving materials which I would cheerfully GIVE to someone who can put them to use. Let me know at: [email protected] so as not to further tie up mostone and the genealogy folks. Thanks, Jim Barrett --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

    1. MCGUIRE / BOWLING / BRANHAM connections
    2. Kathy
    3. A while back, I posted a picture of my fathers grandfather, Jesse Greenberry McGuire. The other day I recieved a note which read in part "Wondering if you may have any information on Thomas McGuire, the brother of Jesse Greenberry McGuire (whos picture was on the Mostone website)." She goes on to say: "I believe that Jesse Greenberry McGuire had a younger brother named Thomas McGuire who was married to Matilda Ann Bowling. They had 3 kids, Ethel McGuire, Luther McGuire, and Earl McGuire...Something happened to Thomas as a young husband because Matilda was married to James Noe (Noah) Branham. Matilda and James Branham (my husbands great grandparents) had 2 daughters. Agnes Branham was around 12, and her sister Dora Branham was around 8 when Matilda died. Do you know what happened to Thomas? If so, I am looking for leads." Anyone else researching the McGUIRE or BOWLING or BRANHAM lines and could help us connect these two families? Thanks! Kathy Byrd Pineville, Louisiana

    3. When the Myfamily.com sites first started, you could put alot of info on them & it was free, but agreed, it was by invitation only. I used to belong to several and maintain one. Now, they charge to use virtually any space so it's not as popular to use. Someone has to pay to maintain the site, but agreed, the data was often more thorough I'm sure due to privacy. 3. There are several people who have put on County or State Research sites through MyFamily. One reason is that members are by invitation, and the freedom to put on the sites, things that would otherwise not be put on the www. I belong to several, including one for Missouri Research, and the things others have posted, I have not found anywhere else in some cases. I believe it has to do with a sense of freedom from spammers, etc, that make them more popular with folks that belong to them. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Peter or Josephine Dunne" <[email protected]> To: <[email protected]> Sent: Tuesday, September 21, 2004 1:49 PM Subject: Re: [MOSTONE-L] Forum > Stone County has a Mailing List and a Query section. 1. Re: [MOSTONE-L] Reunions
    2. I really appreciate your willingness to share..thank you! Where I fit in, as I have it: George W. & George Ann BOLIN children (that lived): Martin Bloise, Alsom Olin (my grandfather), Nellie, Mary & Bessie. Alsom Olin (A.O. also Al) married Sarah Ann NASH in 1909 in Arkansas. They had one child, Ruth H BOLIN, born 1910. Sarah died in 1912; Ruth went to live with George W. & George Ann BOLIN. Her grandparents. Ruth was raised by her grandparents, she graduated from Carr Lane School, 8th grade, Stone Co. MO. A.O. relocated to Cole Co, MO met and married Elsie Barger. They had two children, Earl Vincent and LaVerne. As a young teenager Ruth went to live with her father (A.O.) and his family. I was born in 1934 as the results of a romance that went sour. Hence, my surname being BOLIN. As it was with my Mother (Ruth), so was with me. I was also raised by my grandparents, A.O. and Elsie. As a child I remember meeting A.O.'s sisters and husbands when they came to visit. I may not be able to identify many in the photos. But my mother (Ruth) is still with us at 94. Her mind is still good and she remembers living in Stone Co,with George and George Ann (Gramp Pa and Gramp Ma), as well as Aunts Mary, Bessie and Nellie. She might be able to identify some of the folks in the photos. Looking forward to hearing from you. ………. Don Bolin ………….
