    1. Fw: [MOCHRIST] Land Patents
    2. Peter or Josephine Dunne
    3. Hello MOSTONERS, Mabel Phillips over in Christian County has been busy again ! What a wonderful study she has done on women homesteaders. !!!! We are all so grateful to her for all she does. Please have a look at her very interesting work and see if you know any of these brave women . Jo ========================================================================== From Mabel: The Land Patents are up on the Transcribed Records website. The study of the women who homesteaded is still on-going, but I thought I would put up what I have found thus far. Perhaps someone has a long of information on some of the ladies which could help complete the file. The entire list is in PDF files by name, location and dates. http://www.rootsweb.com/~moccl/Patentees/Patentees.html

    2. Brian Shay
    3. Hey all, It's time for the November cemetery hop. We will meet at the Longhorn restaurant in Forsyth at 8 AM. We are going to try again for Bradleyville. If you can't make the restaurant for breakfast, we will be at the cemetery about 9 or 9:15. For those of you that contacted me last month with special requests I still have your lists and will do as we agreed. Quick recap: Saturday November 20th, 8AM Longhorn Restaurant Forsyth, MO for breakfast, and then the Bradleyville Cemetery about 9:15 for the readings. From Forsyth take 76 east to Bradleyville then turn north on SR 125. The cemetery is on the right between a church and the school. We will park in the school lot. Brian Shay

    1. Cornell/Branham/Roberson
    2. goldie vining
    3. Hi, Does anyone have any information on Mary Catherine Cornell married to Samuel Branham? She married under the name of Roberson (Robertson/Robison/Robeson), but later documents of Samuel Branhams list her last name as Cornell. I have nothing absolute on her family. Some say her brothers may have been George Washington Cornell, and Harvey Cornell. One story I have is that her mother came to Missouri from Redbird Indiana when the 3 were kids. Census says Mary was born in Illinois. (several census reports). However, if one census taker copied some information from the previous one (I don't know if they do this...speculation on my part) it could be that the handwriting on the first census looked like Illinois when in fact it was Indiana. Census also says her mother was born in Ohio and her father in Kentucky. I have 3 different birth years on her. 1852, 1855, and 1848. The later one was on her tombstone which is in Nelson Cemetary along with her daughter Maggie (Bran! ham) Sikes and about 4 other people. She was aparently called Catherine. (Spelled different ways). If anyone has any information that would take me in the right direction, it would be greatly appreciated. Goldie Vining [email protected]
