Computer glitches being what they are, I hope my first response got through. My computer is 7 years old, with advanced arteriosclerosis, Alzheimer's, and possibly, a hangover!! I would love to know what you might find about Jacob Horn, my great-grandfather, in Flat Creek Township. He was about 50 in 1879 and married to Mary Ann Gideon. I will get creative in figuring out what to do for you for Christmas. Hi Joy, I hope you don't get overwhelmed with this. Christmastime offers enough opportunities for overextension. If you can, please check Jacob Horn in the Flat Creek Township, married to Mary Ann Gideon, he is about 50 years old in 1879. Not sure what I can do for you but we'll think of something. Will see what I can do. Have to get my daughter to pick my reader up off the floor & back onto the table (LOL) Got moved at Turkey Day. Honest injun, I'm not asking for anything in return personally, just if you can pass on the favor anywhere, it would be nice. One of those warm fuzzies. Vicki ~ You are so sweet, but please pick a year because I don't know what you might already have & don't want to duplicate. I have so MANY brick walls, but I'd love to know where David Eudaley is buried. Should be in Llano Co., Callahan or Burnet Co. TX, but I don't have appropriate notes. He's in my direct line of my maternal side. He was b. 1854 TN died before 1920. Oh well, the search continues! Joy Vicki Ayo wrote: >Merry Christmas to you, too, Joy and thanks. Hi all ~ It's that time of year when we are all trying to think up the unusual & wanted gift for our friends and families. This morning I was thinking about all of my great on-line friends and those who have helped me so much. For my Mo-Stone friends here's my gift offering. I have the film still that has the personal property assessments on it for years 1879 - about 1892 and then jumps and includes 1932. I have made several of the years into data bases that are available (if you are interested please see the Stone Co web pages) Anyhow, I'll do one look up, one year, one name for any of you from this film. I hope you will consider doing likewise from some resource you have in any county! If you want to do that on an ongoing basis - consider www.raogk.com There are some of the best volunteers I've ever encountered there! Good thoughts to all HO HO HO Joy/MO

He enrolled for service July 30, 1862, and was ordered into service August 16, 1862. He served only 56 days. Records show he was killed by bushwhackers. Near the home of Calvin and Mary Jane Cloud a young 11-year-old was left to fend for himself. This young man was Alf Bolin. He came to the home of Calvin and Mary Jane, they gave him a home until he was about 17 years of age when he left and joined a gang of bushwhackers. One evening Calvin Cloud had slipped in home for food and to feed his horse. Alf Bolin and some of his gang rode in and asked Calvin for his gun. He replied that he did not have a gun. Alf Bolin spoke up and said, "Calvin Cloud you have a good gun and I want it". Calvin recognized Alf's voice and told him to get off that horse and ask for the gun like a man, at that Alf shot Calvin and shot at Mary Jane missing her. Alf Bolin was betrayed by his own gang, killed and beheaded. His head was taken to Ozark, Mo. Mary Jane was summoned to Ozark, not knowing why she was called. She saddled her horse one very cold and snowy morning, rode the horse from near McCall bridge to Ozark and at that time she would have! been 7 months pregnant. When she arrived in Ozark she learned she was called to identify the head of Alf Bolin, the notorious renegade during the Civil War.

Hello MOSTONERS, Our friend Ray Gold sent me a link this morning on Revised Statutes for Cemeteries. I know those folks in Christian County have been having issues with people destroying cemeteries. For those interested the link is: http://www.moga.state.mo.us/statutes/c214.htm I will be placing this link on the Stone County web site for future reference. Jo
Robin, Thank you so much for your reply. Anything you can tell me about the Johnston family will be gratly appreciated. I never expected to find this part of the James B. Johnston family of Henry TN. I had tracked James A. through a Silas Carr deed transaction in enry County. The Stone County web site was a wonderful surprise and I was able to put quite a lot together. Again, thanks for any thing youcan tell me. Nona
Hi all, hope you’re having a great Thanksgiving holiday this year. Just a lil’ FYI. I’ve changed my default email to [email protected] since after almost 10 years of using Juno, they have made it all but impossible to continue using unless you have a pay-for it account. My Juno is still active, however, so I will still receive emails there, just may be longer to get replies from me if you use it. Regards, and Happy Holidays to come!
