    2. Wilma, I remember the name. As I remember, they lived on the north side of town. Is that correct? My mother sometimes can remember ones that I don't. I will ask her tomorrow. She now lives here in Springfield. Toni

One of them was William Long, b. 1833 in Illinois, married Caroline Unknown and had 6 children. He later married Elizabeth [Carpenter] McReynolds (b. 1849). They had 4 children. One son was George W. Glossip; Artie Long m. unk Tindle; William Darrel Long b. 1915 MO; Delpha Long b. 1916 m. Unknown Spears; Eunice Long b. 1918 MO; Dale Long b. 1921. Joseph Long b. 1810 in KY (Not to be confused with Joseph Calvin Long). Married Elizabeth Smith. They had 10 children including sisters Mary Catherine Long, (b. 1852 in MO), Sara Elizabeth Long (b.1854 MO), Permelia Cordelia Long (b.1869 MO). Also, Lavinia Jane, married Elijah Rhodes; and James (or Joseph) who married Elizabeth Rhodes. Mary Catherine married George Washington Short and had 10 children including John William Short II, Mary Melcena Short who married Corbley Wright and Ernest Short who married Edith Hembree. Sara Elizabeth Long married John William Short (b. 1850 Johnson Co. MO). They had 11 children including Joe who married Molly Fugitt; Permelia Frances who married Bill Mathes; John William Short (not the 2nd) m. Johnnie Ernestine Williams. However, their son was John William Short, III, my husband. Permelia Cordelia married Jackson Grant Short and were the parents of Dewey Short as well as others. Many second cousins, twice removed! I've collected this info over many years and from many sources. If I can help anyone, send an email. Marj Short
