    3. Could someone explain to me the term "century farm" ? I can guess, but would like to know for sure. Also, I think we should remember that all these names and places are connected with living people and not use it to express our personal opinion, especially when it's unkind and serves no purpose. Incidentally, I believe I am related to both Jim Barrett and the Whites. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Barrett" <barrett@interlinc.net> To: <MOSTONE-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Friday, March 10, 2006 11:42 PM Subject: Re: [MOSTONE-L] CENTURY FARMS STORIES > Doesn't look so good anymore. 1. Re: [MOSTONE-L] Re: RAILEY CREEK CEMETERY
    2. Juanita Tedrick
    3. First, I have to correct my directions on where I think the cemetery was....on "old" highway 13, I guess it is now #248/265. I'm sorry, I don't know many details on the headstone. I talked to my sister, Ruth, (who still lives in Reeds Spring) and here is what she told me. Her uncle by marriage, Sonny Grisham, told her before he died that the cemetery would have been under the barn on the place mentioned in my first e-mail. He said when the people were building the barn they found only one headstone that was readable and it had the name Hembree on it. Sonny said it was taken to Galena and given to a Hembree descendant. She said she had also heard from other people that the cemetery was closer to the creek, over by the trees. I believe that this property has changed hands twice since I stopped and talked with the owners. I haven't spoke with the present owners, but I can imagine they wouldn't be over excited to have to fence off part of their land for a cemetery! Now she also said tonight that she was told by Wayne Kerr (who has also died) that there was another cemetery on Railey Creek and this one was located off Railey Creek Road about 1/2 mile from the turn off on Highway 276 . ----- Original Message ----- From: "Cheri Mello" <kinklector@gmail.com> To: <MOSTONE-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Thursday, March 16, 2006 11:33 AM Subject: Re: [MOSTONE-L] Re: RAILEY CREEK CEMETERY > Juanita, > > My "Grandma Duncan" was born a Hembree. 2. Janet, Red Yocum died about 1992 or 3 at the hospital in Fayetteville, ARk. He was cremated. Kathy still lives in Galena but is in very bad health. They had one daughter who is married and they live with Kathy. I may have some info on Missouri Cloud, will have to look at my books to see, will get back with you next week. I am not related but my husband was the son of a Cloud. 3. Thank you so much! Any little clue will be wonderful. My Grandma died in 2001, and though I had heard many of her stories I find that a)her memory was not what it used to be and b) neither is mine. Also, I was not as interested as I should have been when I had the chance, a lot of stuff died with her. Alas! I believe that my what, second cousins? "Red" and Kathy Yocum ("Red"was Jake and Nellie Ann Norman Yocum's son) lived in Galena at least until the mid nineteen eighties, and they had a couple of kids (who would of course now be most emphatically NOT kids.) Anyway, thanks for inquiring with the old-timers. Janet W Southall

    3. Juanita, My "Grandma Duncan" was born a Hembree. She was born near Reeds Spring. Do you know anything else about the Hembree tombstone or the Hembree receiver? Thanks, Cheri Mello

    3. I tried to find it also a few years ago. I believe my great-great-grandmother on the Cron side was buried there. I have been told by a cousin that there was a barn over where she was buried. I was back there last spring and it it was where I think it was, it looks like a sod farm or something is there now. It was on the north side of Hwy 13 right before you get to the Railey creek bridge. I stopped once and tried to talk to the people that lived there but they were less than cooperative. My sister that lives in Reeds Spring said one tombstone with the name "Hembree" was found and delivered to a member of a Hembree family. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Mike Flannigan" <mikeflan@earthlink.net> To: <MOSTONE-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Saturday, March 11, 2006 8:11 AM Subject: [MOSTONE-L] Re: RAILEY CREEK CEMETERY > > I don't know much about it, but I think it still exists.
