My g-grandfather Henry Neal b. May 1893 was raised by a Lizzie Scism. He is listed as an orphan on the on the 1900 census living in her household. She is 52yo in 1900. I am trying to discover the names of his parents. He was rumored to have a brother named John (probably older). I am not sure if he was truly orphaned, perhaps illegitimate, or abandoned? My mother heard him to say that he wouldn't cross the street to speak to his biological family, and he never told anyone his parents names to my knowing.
