According to my notes, "In 1900 census Marion and his three children were living with his father and mother, Joseph Czar Bland and Mary Sallee Bland in McCleary, Grays Harbor CO, WA His wife Ettie Hampleman died during 1900." I hope this information helps. You're correct in that sometimes the only information we find about an ancester is thru the 10 year census.
