Then a son moved to Illinois. What I find interesting in your post is the Taylor name. In the 1860 Federal Census, my G,G, Grandfather John T Gillespie (spelled Golesby in this census) is shown living in Adair County, MO. Enumerated with him is a woman by the name of Annie Taylor. John's parents are Henry and Mahala Gillespie. I think it might be Mahala's widowed mother, but, have never been able to prove that. Could this be a connection to your line? Any info you or anyone else could provide would be very appreciated.
