You were so kind to help me with the below posting back in 2003, and I wanted to ask if you recalled where you located this information. Too much time may have passed for you to remember, but I thought it was worth a try. Tilson and Elizabeth Sutherland's marriage did take place in Bollinger Co., MO, license dated Jan 14, 1885, marriage Jan 15, 1885 and filed Jan 17, 1885. However, on this license, Elizabeth's name was listed as Elizabeth Stemm, not Mary Elizabeth Stevens. Since Elizabeth was over the age of eighteen, her father's name isn't recorded. I'm curious as to where the father's name, Garrett Stevens came from. If you recall where you located it, I would really like to submit a correction so that it can be noted for others. There was a Garrett Stevens in Bollinger at this time, who had a daughter the same age, named Mary Elizabeth. I've collected various records on this family (Stevens-SC / Ramsey-NC). It did appear as though it could have been the correct family. As it turns out, however, Garrett Stevens is not the father of Tilson Sutherland's wife, Elizabeth. Elizabeth Sutherland died in Stone Co., MO and was buried in Butler Co., MO where Tilson was buried. Her death cert lists her name as Mary Francis, and her father's name was Christian Stamm. I dug a little deeper, and managed to put a few things together on her STAMM family, if you are interested. Thank you again VERY much for you help! -Kay, FL MehdiFakhar@aol.com 1860 District 2, McCracken, Kentucky Godfred STAMP 30 Bavaria Caroline Stamp 27 Bavaria Huntsel Lovemaster 10 Bavaria Lewis Lovemaster 8 Bavaria John Lovemaster 6 KY Elizabeth Stamp 1 KY It looks like the LOVEMASTER individuals may have immigrated in 1854, the same year as Godfried Christian STAMM - perhaps these are his sister's children? The youngest was born in KY, so the mother must have immigrated with them. I used every various/soundex spelling that I can think of, [luev,luew,loev,loew,luv,lov,l*meister...germany/bavaria]but the name can't be found other than in this 1860 census.
