I have just learned that a great aunt who I had assumed died young.....did not. I could use a bit of help searching for her if someone would do a marriage look up for me? Her name was Elmira L. Barnes, daughter of Alanson (Al) Barnes and Harriet Moore Barnes of Oregon Co. MO. At the time Elmira was born, 1876, the family was living in Steele Co MN. They were there to assist with some sort of family emergency. They returned to Oregon/Douglas Co in 1885. I have just learned that Elmira, who may have been called Maria, or Mira, married a man named Hudson or Hutson. They joined a wagon train headed for WA state shortly after marriage. They never returned, and they settled in the Yakima WA area. Several of Elmira brothers and sisters married in Stoddard Co. I do not know the reason for this unless there was family or a minister in Stoddard Co that they were fond of. I would estimate the marriage may have taken place about 1890 or so. Any help would be appreciated. My thanks to anyone who could help with this. I checked the Stoddard Co Marriage index on the GenWeb site, the marriage is not listed, but then the others were not either.
