I ordered a death certificate for my great grandfather and was told they could not find it. They did the search 1919-1923, his death according to the headstone, from the Cemeteries of Stoddard County Missouri is Nov 20, 1921, also from a newspaper clipping: The Dexter Statesman, Dexter, Missouri, page three, November 25, 1921 M. J. McFarland, 57, died at his home 2 1/2 miles southwest of town, Sunday, November 20th, Funeral services were conducted by Rev. Garter, followed by interment in Dowdy Cemetery. He is buried in the Caroline Dowdy New Bethel Cemetery. I did send the possibilities of the different spellings (McFarlen/McFarlin/McFarland). I did order it by Marshall Jones instead of M.J., would that make a difference? How do I find out if a death certificate was issued for him, who would I contact?
