Mona Hagy-Rose The first drug store in Burnie.Bernie got it's name in 1888 "The first drug store according to the Bernie Banner, was ownde by W.L. Smith and A.L. Slayton in 1895. The following year it was sold to Dr.Lemm and M.A. Daniels. Some of Bernies early Physicians were Dr. Ray, Dr. Brewer, Dr. Sherry, Dr. Wooder, Dr. Lemm, Dr. Corbin, Dr. Shll, Dr. J.F.
