Depends on the year Butler or Stoddard county This snip is from an interested researcher in Stoddard county, but it does affect those researching in both Butler county and Stoddard counties <snip> 1892-1899 the post office for the town of Fisk, MO was on the east side of the St. Francis River, and therefore in Stoddard CO. However, residents of the town petitioned that the post office be moved to the west side of the river in Butler CO., and it was moved in 1899. The Stoddard CO. town that had formerly been known as Fisk became Poplin. It soon ceased to exist. <end snip> Thanks to LeAnn Kelley we have this information Mary Hudson [email protected] ô¿ô USGenWeb Counties I volunteer to CC Butler, Mississippi and Stoddard Missouri http://www.rootsweb.com/~mobutle2/index.html http://www.rootsweb.com/~momissis/ http://www.rootsweb.com/~mostodd2/index.html MY PROJECT Bye-Gone Towns http://homepages.rootsweb.com/~mahudson/bygone/by-gonecomstates.htm My Personal Web Site http://www.geocities.com/Heartland/Pointe/3597
