Dose any one know how Armstead-Dowdy Cemetery received it named? I check the Cemetery book and there are no Armstead buried in Stoddard County as of 1992. Any information would be very helpful. Mona, Armstead Dowdy Cemetery is named for the person who donated the land for the cemetery, Armstead Dowdy. The name Armstead has been passed down through many generations of Dowdys.
