I am looking for a connection to my ancestors in this area, they are as follows: My Allen relation are from Jackson Co. TN area. My Great Great Great GrandFather was William Allen b in NC in 1773 or 1774 he married Lydia Stroude (or Stroud or Strout) they moved to Jackson Co. TN where he had a mill on the Blackburn's Fork of the Roaring River. All of the children of Willaim and Lydia were born in Jackson Co. TN. Their first child was Charles Allen b 1806 married Amanda Mary 'Mollie' Burris b NC in 1810. One of Charles and Amanda's children was George Washington Allen b 2 Aug1848 and he married twice, first to Melissa (Melesse) McGinnis 2 children Mary E. Allen Sarah E. Allen second wife Sarah Caroline Rose b 4 Nov 1859 her parents Aaron Rose and Lavina Ashburn 12 Children Mary Luvina Allen b 25 Sep 1877 Charles A. Allen b Sep 1879 Price Allen b Sep 1884 Minnie Lita Allen b Sep 1887 Albert Lee Allen b 8 Apr 1891 (my Grand Father) d 1929 in Flint MI wife Gracie Florence Brown her parents William Thomas Brown b in Birimingham, Al area Lillie Allen b 15 Apr 1896 George Robert Allen b 7 Mar 1899 John Benjamin Allen b 31 Dec 1907 Jack Allen Willie Allen name of the 11 th and 12 th children are not known Albert and Gracie had seven children Floyd Lee Allen Gladys Hazel Allen married John Dean Youn Willard Paul Allen b 25 Jan 1915 (my father) d Feb 13, 2000 John Millard Allen b 27 Jan 1917 Sadir Marie Allen Melvin Allen Fredia Lauice Allen >From what I understand I am also relater to the Dodson, Hughes, Sheets, Russel, Paytons, Sullivan, Eads, Crutchfield families. Charles's brother William was born in 1823 d Mar 9 1863 on Schnider's Bluff in the Ozarks. I do not know which side William faught on. If anyone knows please let me know. William married Martha E. C. Dodson (she was known as Patsy). William and Martha had 8 children. John Gilbert Allen b Nov 14, 1845 d Mar 11, 1900 I believe that John married a Ead lady Mary Allen b 1848 died young Martha Allen b Jan 17, 1850 d Jan 15, 1934 I believe that Martha married a Eads man. James W. Allen b Jan 26, 1852 d Jun 8, 1934 Lewis Joshua (Josh) Allen b Jun 27, 1854 d Jun 18, 1921 Margaret Allen b 1857 died yound Charles P. Allen b 1859 Elias Allen b Apr 23, 1861 d Jun 24, 1933 After Williams death of Heart Dropsy during the Civil War, Martha married a Howard.and they had two daughters.
