I have newspaper article dtd 1901 re my Grgrandfather Benjamin Teets life. In the article he tells of living in Stoddard Co. Mo before and during cival war. He was for the Union which didn't go over well with his neighbors. He owned a large farm there but was run out. He also mentions that his dtr a Mrs Biddle and her husband were boarding with a Mr Penny where her husband was doing some building. Have often wondered if that was JC Penny. The article is long and tells of his escape and what all he went thru to get away. Can't find him in any Stoddard records. Would appreciate any help.
