I found some evidence that he had a Ferry license in Stoddard Co. Matthew was born in VA. He married Martha "Patsy" Gregory, daughter of James Gregory Sr., in 1835 in Morgan Co., IN. They moved to Stoddard Co. around 1840-1842. They had four children; Johnathan Elizabeth Nancy Amanda The children are scattered among family members on the 1850 census and I can't find any trace of Matthew or Patsy Moren/Moran. If anyone knows anything about this family or their children I would love to hear from you. Thanks.
