I was searching for Tom and Jim's grave and found Charles Manning's tomestone. Had the correct date of birth and death date as verified by his granddaughter. On the 1900 Stoddard Co., Mo. census Mattie, Cora, Bertha and Robert are children living at home, then Myrtle, granddaughter and then Louisa, daughter-in-law and then Hattie, granddaughter. Aunt Fannie, Mattie's older sister, said Myrtle's mother, Lucinda Johnson, died when Myrtle was a baby. Aunt Fannie lived to be in her late 90s and her mind was clear to the time she died. I've wondered if one of the 12 children that Martha bore could have died and Louisa was his wife. I neer remember hearing about another. But when I was young people did not talk about someone that died. Too painful I suppose. Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list.
