I'm not sure who else Louisa could be. There were only two sons who could have been married. The third son of course died at age 14 in 1908. The only possible solution for the daughter in law named Louisa was Thomas's first wife Lucinda or Delia (James' wife) goes by Louisa (maybe a middle initial). We'd need to find census records with James and Delia together in 1900. Married in 1895, it would make sense for Thomas and Lucinda to have a daughter about Hattie's age. Kind of rules James and his family out. Unfortunately, my grandmother remembers very little about Mattie's family. What I have is a result of lots of collaboration and hours of hard work digging through whatever I can get my hands on. Up until your message, I thought that maybe Thomas had died and that's why Louisa (aka Lucinda) was living with a daughter in her husband's parents' home, but that theory now seems defunct. I, too, found the census record in Arkansas that you were talking about. I may be wrong but Charles Manning is buried in Woodruff Co. to my memory and McCrory cemetery sounds right for him too. At the very least, I know I have some Mannings buried in McCrory. I am wondering if several of the Stewart children moved to Arkansas at the same time and lived near one another. Seems too much of a coincidence. --Micah-- Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list.
