I am looking for any info at all, however insignificant it may seem on the following family of Bakers. This is one of my brick walls that I'm having a very hard time breaking through, but with such a common name I guess it happens. Anyway, the Bakers I'm looking for are: George Baker b: appx. 1813 in TN d: sometime between 1850-1870, but probably about 1860. He was married to Sarah (maiden name unknown). She was born appx. 1824 in Tennessee. I have no idea when she died or any data on their marriage. They are listed on the 1850 Census in Stoddard Co., but based on their children's birth data they had lived there 4-5 years at that time. I don't know where they were in 1860 (possibly Ark.), but on the 1870 Census Sarah is a widow living next door to one of her sons (Michael Baker) in Stoddard Co. Children: Michael b: abt 1842 in TN Jane b: abt. 1843 in TN John b: abt 1845 in TN Henry b: abt 1848 in MO Mary b: abt 1859 in MO There may have been other children between Henry and Mary, but I do not know. I am descended from the son, Michael Baker and he is the only one of the children I have additional data on. Michael Baker was married to Louisa (maiden name unknown) b: appx. 1846 in Missouri. It is likely they lived in Stoddard Co. when they married, but I can't find where they married or when. In the 1870 Census, Michael and Louisa are in Castor Township, Stoddard Co. Children: William Riley Baker b: Jan. 1867 in AR George Talbert Baker b: Jun. 21, 1869 in MO Andrew John Van Molly I don't know when or where any of the children other than William and George were born, but I do know that these two sons were they oldest children. As adults, most of these children lived back and forth between Stoddard Co. and Clay Co., Ark. plus William Riley was born in Ark., so their parents may have moved around a bit themselves. Either way, I haven't found much on them in either location. If anything here rings a bell or seems familiar, I'd certainly love to hear from you. Thanks, Randall Baker
