Hi, I'm new to the list and want to put my query out in the hopes someone can help me out. I'm looking for information on my gg grandfather William Stewart. My great grandmother Sally Belle Stewart was born Dec. 11, 1891 in Puxico, Stoddard Co., Missouri. Her parents were William Stewart and Avyrilla Tennesse "Tennie" Glover. The family story is that Sally Belle Stewart was orphaned when she was around 2 or 3 years old when both parents died within 6 months of each other. She was brought up by her mother's brother and his wife in Obion County, Tennessee, so knew about her mother's family but was told nothing about her father except that his name was William and that he was somewhat older than her mother. The story goes that the family disapproved of the marriage and would not talk about him.. So all I know about William Stewart is that he was living in Stoddard County during the time of his daughter's birth in 1891, and suspect he died there.
